case cheetah
Re: case cheetah
Unless it was removed, not common at all. Documented factory error. Scarce knife.
Not sure how many were made but not in the thousands is my guess. Shown in price guides as "no model stamp". Bone color fits for the ones I have seen also.
I also have one like yours.

Re: case cheetah
Thank you for the reply. It's tarnished up pretty good but I do not believe it has been tampered with at all. Still has all the factory lines on the blade. Gonna try to clean it up some...

Re: case cheetah
I just love the blade on that cheetah. And the bone handle don't have any flies either. Nice.

What do you do to clean up a knife in this kind of condition? I have several and have always worried about doing damage to the knife.
Re: case cheetah
I lightly cleaned this one with some sand paper. I know some people are totally against it. But I find it very enjoyable if the knife is not to far gone. Just watch the factory lines on the blade use tape. And don't start unless you are commented to it. In this knifes case no flitz metal glo or any kind of paste would touch the scratches. To me I think it is a improvement..

Re: case cheetah
You sure did a nice job on that Cheetah.I know what you mean by the committed part. I've cleaned several knives with sandpaper and like the result also.

Re: case cheetah
Looks great Mike. The one I have had to have the blade pivot work where it meets the spring built back up because it was sloppy and loose. I also had to use very fine grit sandpaper on a cheetah that I gave to my son at his wedding just before he took his vows. He had used it to cut an orange. I had hoped someday when his son got married he would give it to him on his wedding day as I did so I cleaned it up.miked32 wrote:I lightly cleaned this one with some sand paper. Thanks men..
Zp4ja I'm sure the cheetah will be a cherished piece. A cheetah is a great looking knife to me and a great piece to pass on down the line..
