Case 62009???
Case 62009???
I just bought this on E-bay. I don't have it yet. Looks ok. I have always liked the one arm razor style. I tried to look it up online and am not seeing this knife as a 62009. what do you think? I got it for $20.00 and $6.00 to ship it.

The ad says "8 star". I am not that knowledgeable about Case knives, but I have a few. I didn't think I had ever heard of and 8 dot. I was a little wary to bid as it was so cheap but it looked ok and was about to end so I went for it.

Welcome to AAPK! Looks like you bought a well-loved 62009RAZ. RAZ for razor shaped master blade. Also sometimes called a "one armed man" cuz the master blade can easily be opened with one hand by hooking the exposed point on just about anything (seam on the leg of your jeans works great). Think I can see least one dot under U.S.A. And based on its location I'd guess 8 dots is probably about right. You'll have to get it in hand to confirm but if so that means your knife dates to 1972.
Lots of info here on AAPK on Case and other brands, just look up at the top of the page and click on "Research". Also a lot of info available on http://www.wrcase.com, click on "Case College". Or just post your questions here!

The pattern number is correct for that knife. Looks like its well used and l believe that is a delrin handle. A base model knife worth just about what you gave for it. That model came with various master blades with no reference numbers to designate the type blade. If it has eight dots under USA then it was made in 1972.

Yes delrin handles. Bone handles on that pattern last made in 1970. Discontinued 1975.
