1965-1969 case coke bottle C61050SAB laminate handles

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

1965-1969 case coke bottle C61050SAB laminate handles

Post by smokie2mcclerren »

Was wondering what this knife is worth in excellent used condition? Blade is 95% snaps well no pitting or rust, with sharp tang stamps and little patina, the handles have no knicks or scratches. Any help appreciated

Well ive been trying for an hour now to upload some pics and havent been able to get my phone to cooperate, the knife has been dated by the tang stamp, which is double stamped(as in the stamp die struck it twice) wondered if that would affect the value? Ill add the overall measurements as well as blade length and overall thickness of knife. Length closed is 5 3/8". Open is 9 5/8". Blade is 4 1/8" and thickness is 9/16" handle to handle. And the tang stamp is case xx with usa beneath it, no dots. The "case xx" is the only part that is double stamped, the usa part is normal. And the C61050SAB is perfectly clear and i am 99% sure the handles are wood thus from what ive learned are laminate.have a guy wanting to buy it for $85 but i feel its worth more

If its been used, possibly sharpened, I'd take the $85 cash. ::nod::

Welcome to AAPK smokie! Pics would help but given your description and no pics, take the money and run! Unlike coins, a double struck tang stamp adds no value. As previously stated, in the world of knives (especially Case) with all the counterfeiting activity, if anything it casts suspicion on authenticity.
