Yea Tony, customs are not my cup of tea either. Just an ordinary old fashioned stock folder guy myself although I have an EDC with filework and grooved bolsters I like alot.
If you were familar with his usual work, you would undersatand why such words as "Stunned" and "Speechless" were used. David does some real intricate and highly skilled work with various natural stones, metals, intense engraving, etc with various inlays, like "cutlery jewelry" for lack of a better description. I consider most knives as tools made by true craftsman but not nescessarily art. His knives would be considered cutlery art, in my opinion. Not my bag as I said but I do respect his level of skill.
My assumption would that most collectors would look at that particular knife with doubt based on his normal work, even though the knife is authentic.
I suggest you take a quick peek at the links I provided so you see some of his work so you get a feel for what I mean. Just a suggestion.
