What in the world is this????

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

There's several comments on this item in Counterfeit Watch under the heading "bad fake".

Looks like someone epoxied an old Case shield into the handles of a "something" brand knife. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

I think these knives were made by a guy in Ohio who sold them for 50.00 or so, probably more than they were worth. Don't think they are actually branded. That corn Cobb jigging was put on several different patterns. Just a shame that new collectors may buy one and be turned off to collecting.
Funniest story I heard was from a guy selling one who said, "it's a Case Classic". It is not.
