Very handsome chest of drawers, Shearer. What finish did you use?

Scott, that's a great bunch of baits.

Thanks for your kind words on the chest of drawers.
It was a learning curve. A few mistakes and why did I start this project .I could not pull my hair out as I didn't have any to start with.

FRJ .I used a cedar stain and varnish.

What exactly is this???

Pick.JPG

My dad gave it to me, said it belonged to his dad. He thinks my grandfather used it as a pick, cause he was a guitar player.

Trust me on this one...............it's a fingernail file.

Made from some natural material, I think aquatic, like some kind of shellfish, cuttlefish or something similar.

Sarah bought a couple at The Southern Women's Show several years ago.

Grasp the dark end between thumb and forefinger and buff the nails of the opposite hand with the outer curvature surface, drawing it across the nail parallel with the long axis. I think that's how it worked.

Don't remember if the inner surface is abrasive or not.

Give it to your wife.

Not gonna doubt you guys on the fingernail file, but from the picture, it sure looks like a penny to me. (Sorry Glenn. I tried, but in the end couldn't resist. ::facepalm:: )

That's great. Love it. Also love the Texaco sign. My favorite gas (along with Sunoco) back in the day.

In the early days of my employment at NCR I sold my first Service Agreement to Ernie for his 100 Class cash register at Ernie's Texaco.

My family took a little road trip to Corbin, Ky. today to visit the very first Kentucky Fried Chicken location. It's still an operating restraunt but there's a little museum inside. Here are a few pictures of the original kitchen where the Col. got his start.
