case hobo 51, 52, and the latest 54?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

case hobo 51, 52, and the latest 54?

Has not been as easy as I thought it would be to find info on case hobos. My questions are, can someone post the differences (pics would really help) of the three variations and the maybe list the years they were introduced and discontinued (51 and 52).

Hello,
I purchased a stag Hobo (V5254HB) a couple of years ago from a collector. It was advertised as NOS and was in super condition. I have been using it daily to eat my lunch at work. Great little knife. A bit bulky and heavy but very well made with nice fat stab scales. I have it in a leather case belt sheath.
While I like the new hobos with the spoon, they are not making them with stag scales so I opted for the vintage variety that has the detachable knife and fork. I am happy with it.

I forgot to add that the hobo knife was manufactured on 20 April 1999. When I was looking to buy a hobo knife it was in 2010 and by that time the new three bladed version (knife, fork, spoon) with bone scales was the only one available in retail stores.
