This time I used a 197UH, aka, the "Cats Paw", and filed out the notch in the tang for the liner lock.
It works great and the carbon steel in the 893 blade is excellent!
The only thing I would do different is in filing the notch for the liner lock; I used the worn out 197 blade as a pattern to cut the notch.
I think Schrade left some slop in their old liner locks and then this wore more.
If you try to close it with the lock engaged there is a little play before the tang reaches the lock.
Nothing great, just not tight like a Benchmade liner lock.
I sanded this down a bit as the old 197UH frame had been beat on at some point in its life.
It makes a really nice pocket friendly EDC with a really sharp carbon steel blade!
I am liking it!
