Well Tommy, now that I know your age I understand why you don't know how to use a digital camera!
Now I feel like a kid, I will start to calling you “Sir” Since you are 14 years my senior!
Seriously though, I agree with you, I definitely had a guardian angel for some of the stupid things I did!
I got up to 140 MPH in my 1969 Olds Cutlass. She had more to give but was starting to float pretty badly.
I did get my Honda CB 750 up to 130 MPH once, and that was all she had to give. I think the previous owner had re-jetted the carbs, or I would not have got that out of her.
Bees really hurt at 70 MPH. Glad I didn't hit one at 130!

......dale, now you're trying to make me feel REALLY old!!.......only time i ever feel really old is when i mow the yard with a 20" push mower!!........every car I ever went real fast in did the floating bit, except the '56 tbird. however, I did alter the aerodynamics on it a little. I changed 1 flat tire out of that !$%^^&&**#^%$!!!! continental kit and never put it back on the car, I threw it all in the trunk and sold the whole assembly and put a '55 tbird rear bumper, guards, and tailpipes on it, and it actually felt like it was glued to the road, no matter how fast you went. the one I'm driving now with the cont. kit feels squirrelly at 95!!!....................orvet wrote:carrmillus wrote:.........I'm assuming most of you guy's are my age(77), did you ever wonder how we did some of the stupid stuff we did and got to be this old???.......someone was definitely watching over us!!!!............................................

You are braver than I am these days!
If I accidentally get up to 80 to 85 on the freeway I back it right down.

.......that was a while back, dale!!.....I hardly ever get over the limit now!!!.....it may just be old age, but I worry about the brakes now....the '56 tbird has drum brakes and 99% of the other cars have anti-lock brakes- if I had to out-brake a newer car, it would never happen......I need to sell this thing to one of you younger guys!!!..................

I came on this website with my coffee to relax this morning and you guys really depressed me. I'm only 67 and a school bus full of school kids passed me on the freeway a couple months ago. Think I've missed out on a few experiences wnen I was young enough to actually try them.

DJ, don't feel too bad. Be it car, truck, motorcycle, boat or go-cart; I've tested the top end of every vehicle I've ever owned (and some I didn't own) except for my current one. I don't have a clue how fast this truck will go and I'm not going to find out.

Found On Road Dead
Fix Or Repair Daily
Four Old Rusted Doors
WHY ARE THERE SIDEWALKS BESIDE MOST STREETS AND HIWAYS?
So Ford owners have a safe place to walk home.
WHY DID FORD PUT HEATERS IN THE TAILGATES OF THEIR NEW TRUCKS?
To keep their hands warm when they are pushing the truck into the shop.
HOW IS A GOLF BALL DIFFERENT FROM A FORD?
You can drive a golf ball 200 yards!

Did I go overboard?

Twenty Sixth letter of the alphabet. "Z" Those crazy United Kingdom boys pronounce it "Zed" while in the States we pronounce it "Zee". I don't know how all y'all pronounce it down there in Georgia since like Tejas, you're pretty much a country of your own.Cutty wrote:I don't know what the heck Zed or Zee means![]()
