camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

And man did it sharpen up real good.

Uh. Did I say I paid $5 for it?

Thanks for the offer but I like it too much. You're right. I was able to get all 3 blades almost razor sharp.

Excuse me while I wipe the slobber off my iPad here. Man I like that. I do like whittlers, and whittling. Of course all I make are cedar shavings though.

Alright, I'm on the hunt now. I need one or ten of these whittlers!

Awesome pics Cuz.

Cuz, whittling is my thinking time. I love to take a stick of red cedar and see how small a little curly cue shaving I can make. Some how masking myself sit down, focus on what I'm doing clears my mind and let's me ponder.

Shoot I've been known to sit in the living room and whittle into a box. I's be a redneck.

I have this Camillus Wharncliff whittler coming in the mail. What do you think. This is the description.
ANTIQUE CAMILLUS CUTLERY CO 3 BLADE POCKET KNIFE - 3 3/8" closed. Used, sharpened condition. Vintage unsure, circa 1902 to 1915. Thick Mother Of Pearl handles with a tight hair line crack across the back handle. Master blade stamped CAMILLUS CUTLERY CO NEW-YORK. Small blades stamped CAMILLUS(arched) CUTLERY CO NEW-YORK. An early stamp. One small blade has no snap other blades have good snap. A hard to find antique pocket knife.
I will post more pictures when it arrives.

Mark is right, that's a foul!

Here to make up for it and get you back in the straight and narrow, I'll send you the 72 I've been packing the last few days and you send me that old thing. And just because I'm a great guy I'll even foot the postage both ways.
