R4243 Camp Knife

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

R4243 Camp Knife

Post by Capt. Farrel »

Being not really in the know about Remingtons I kind of naive bought the Remington because I quite a little bit into boy scout knives. I was expecting one of those nice little fellows that slip easily into a box scouts pocket when I unpacked this mother of a camp knife! Whoa, this one´s big! You better put your big jeans on when taking this one out for camping.
Unfortunately this one came without a box but I love it anyway...... ::ds::

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

You're going to look awfully silly with that knife sticking out of your @#$. -Clint Eastwood, High Plains Drifter

That is a honkin' piece of hardware Captain, no doubt about that! I love the clip blade and the configuration with a pen blade instead of a can opener. She's a keeper for sure, thanks for sharing!
