Robert, there really isn't any closing "snap" on the 42LB pattern. It doesn't have a conventional backspring and uses a completely different mechanism that has very little spring tension/resistance. That's why they open so easily for us older guys with arthritic digits. ::shrug::

Here is another Elk #42. Good lockup on this one also, and I don't recall seeing this stamp before.......but may have missed it on other GEC SS models..... ::shrug::

NEW STAMP !!!!!____also added,the ""Lined Bolster"" on the Acorn Shield knives ::hmm:: -----ya' just never know @ GEC ::shrug::

Fantastic knives all! Every one of them! ::tu:: ::tu:: Picked up a few myself but no pics yet... A couple Vipers in smooth white bone and one in Blackwood and a #42 in American Chestnut (that aint here yet). GEC turning out some awesome stuff the last few weeks especially!

Anybody get one of those Percheron bone handled Vipers? I only seen one on GECs website, in the Viper group shot.

This one looked so good, I just had to get another one. :shock: wow! A really nice run of cocobolo in this batch, I don't think I've seen one bad looking knife in the bunch. ::shrug::

Yer right! I've been carrying her for a couple of days and it's a load. I have to make a critique about it though. I would like the cut out on the top of the saw to be sharp so I can use it to strip wires. So I think I'll make it be.

Other thing I'd like is a cap lifter. I'll think about that one for a bit.
