for crappy replicas i have no suggestion perhaps "bouze" (cow sheet) but definitively not "Craplica" because this knife is very well finished, with an original blocking system and it cut like a razor

... Not many folks have seen a knife with a "straight razor blade".

Dewman, I have been seeing these "razor" knives, especially the Boker Barlow, with the squared off point, like a one-arm knife.
Is it really a regular RAZOR, or just a term for a hollow ground blade?
Isn't the funny "point" for opening on the belt?
Are all these one-arm blades, razors?
If it is a real razor, why put a razor on a pocket knife when the other blades are razor sharp anyway?

My second question/observation is that most of the EDCs mentioned on this cool thread are traditional patterns rather than the new knives like Stan's Craplica.
I also EDC a traditional knife, stockman or barlow, but that's because I'm just a reactionary trying to bring back the good ole knives from the good ole days. What's your reason?

Well.since I picked this up last week,its been my new EDC..I like it so it will probably continue to be..

The Buck 186 is a great knife Johnnie!
I have one in plain edge & partial serrated.
Love them both! Too bad they discontinued the pattern.

Here is one I recently picked up, so I haven't had it quite long enough to call it an EDC...but, it's getting there.

I put a little swivel hook on the ring and just attach to a belt loop.

The chinese copies of Schrade, Winchester, Remington, etc, etc, can new be known as craplicas.

An example of use in a sentence:
"I saw what I thought was a nice Old Timer 8OT on the store shelf. Upon closer examination I discovered that it was a craplica."

We will have to add it to Wikipedia.

Yes, it's hollow ground, like the old timey razors the barber used to use in days of my youth. Don't know if they use them any more or not. My Parkers don't have the "funny point" you refer to, but the more traditional "straight razor" look and they all, with the exception of one have the second clip point blade as well. I find the razor blade most useful for opening up boxes, cutting tape, scribing wood....and a lot more things that you'd wouldn't imagine. Unless you've used one, it's kinda' hard to explain just how useful you'd find them. If you have any curiosity about them....and I hate dearly to say this for fear of being beaten about the head and shoulders....buy yourself one of the cheap imports.....and give it a try and see what I'm talking about. Again, like I said....and bear in mind, this is strictly MY OWN personal opinion....they're one of the most useful EDC knives I've ever used, bar none. But....different strokes for different folks. And by the way, I don't like broccoli, brussel sprouts or liver and onions either! Not sure what that has to do with ANYTHING, other that to kinda' explain my choice of an EDC knife.

I've taken a real liking to the Jacksonville, Alabama made Parker-Edwards brand, but I'm sure there are other brands....such as Boker and Schrade-Walden who also make a good quality razor trapper. If you buy one, please, by all means, give us a "range report".

It's great to be in a place where people talk knives! I also find it good that
I'm not the only person who regularly carries two or more knives. Most
of the time it's a Case large stockman 6375 pattern with chestnut bone
handles my wife gave me and a Spyderco native plain blade with the pocket clip removed. The Case in my left and the Spyderco in my right.
The MoonMaker is a new brand on me. I'll have to check that one out.
I also carry a Boker large stockman with carbon steel blades when I'm
not carrying my Case. The German steel is hard to beat for holding a

I found an Alabama Trapper single blade and a Parker-Edwards Razor single blade(very tempting)both on Vintage Blades LLC, (great company to deal with), but no Razor-Trapper, so I went looking for a Schrade Walden and found the best deal on SMKW, a Schrade Walden Razor/Trapper in amber jigged bone with "Everlastingly sharp" etch.
The tang says USA, although it was listed under Taylor Brands. Is it really made in the USA?
Isn't it unusual to find a NEW Schrade USA?
Needless to say I ordered it pronto. Now I can continue the search for a Parker-Edwards at leisure.
I'll be sure to keep you up-dated.

Below is the promised pic. of my present EDC, Boker cell., which I carry in a pouch (man knife-purse) to save my pocket. It's embarrassing but better than sewing a worn pocket. .
Next to it is a French Marjacq (like a luxury opinel) in ebony which Stan's Salidini reminded me of.

The two pin Stanley sodbuster made in Italy got in here by mistake.

This time last year I didn't carry a knife,but since I started collecting I never leave home without one. I carry a case sodbuster jr. and a yellow handled Case trapper for edc and would be lost without them

Here is a Trapper, with one clip and one razor blade, in Sambar stag. It carries the Keen Kutter logo...I believe it was made for Parker, when he owned that trademark, by Bear MGC. Probably in the early 1990s. I have never used it, but it is a very cool looking knife.
