CASE Lockbacks
I looked around and did not see another thread focusing on CASE lockbacks only. Although there have been some threads that include all makers lockbacks. That being said, please post your CASE lockbacks. CASE has some fine ones in my opinion including the 058, 059 and 97 "Shark Series" patterns. Those are just a few examples of course of the many lockbacks CASE made.
Here is one to start that I like. CASE 1977' 61051 LSSP. Only made a few years, I believe 75' to 80'. Extremely lightweight and solid knife. Amazingly light in weight. Sometimes called the "Hornet" or "TrailPacker". 3-3/4" closed with a nice glazed finish drop point blade and Pakkawood handles. Slightly small for my hand but still would be a fine EDC in my opinion.
Jerry
EDIT: pic description says 1979' but it is a 3 dot 77' knife as I stated.

Re: CASE Lockbacks
Thanks Tim. Beautiful example you have there my friend! I really like the black handles on that knife. Real nice picture also! These knives are pretty damn light in weight.
Don't have a black comp 051 but there is one floating across the top AAPK store banner right now that is tempting me. Looks like they changed to a saber blade at some point as the one for sale in the store has one. Dare I say that I have to many knives already so my buys are far and few between right now on just some select wish list knives.
Here is a 1979' M1051 LSSP Hornet. Aluminum handles.
Regards, Jerry

Re: CASE Lockbacks
I had one of those M1051L-SSP lockbacks. The lock was so hard to actuate you almost had to get out the pliers. Sent it to my cousin's grandson but that was the first shipment. The one he never received.

Re: CASE Lockbacks
Nice one Monk! Thanks for sharing it. Pretty handles on that one.
Nice one JerryD. Looks like the tooling or maybe just blades used may have been changed from 79' (my knife)to 82' (your knife), who knows. Your knife has a saber blade and mine does not. Not sure if that was a random variation or full blown change. My lock is tight and stiff but what I would expect and want.
Monk, I like that little 225 lockback. Only 3 inches but still a fine little single blade lockback. I have carried one as my small EDC for about 15 years that my Dad gave me but retired it a couple years ago. Stag is worn almost smooth now. I have a few other 225 patterns I will post.
In the meantime, here is a 405 pattern. Not really into the post 80' CASE knives myself but my exception is the lockbacks since they (most) are tight and well constructed. I have older CASE lockbacks that I will post later.
I think this knife is pretty cool when I consider the whole package. CASE 1995' 61405 LSS with Smooth Black Bone handles and partially serrated master clip blade. Handles are light grey in hand with white accents, real pretty to me. 3-3/4" closed.

here are the 225L knives I mentioned. The stag in the last pic I carried for about 15 years. Nice little pattern in my opinion.

Re: CASE Lockbacks
The 2 Tested knives remind me of a big brother (61051L) and little brother (6111 1/2L).
The modern abalone small copperlock (81549L) was purchased to carry as "Sunday" knife, but I changed my mind and have it put away. It originally came with a scale model Ertl truck which I regrettably do not have.

Those are some beauties, folks. Here's a few more. Sorry for the lousy photos. These are still on the board in original display case.

I have these first year run pairs from 97' and 98' and some other stragglers. Three of which are 97' floating dot first run factory stamp errors. Sold the large yellow to a gal that really love the one she had and lost.

Re: CASE Lockbacks
Thanks Steve! I really like the Copperlock. I gathered up my stag Cheetahs and 11-1/2L for a group shot on another post but they certainly fit in this thread. Really love this frame.
4th knife from the left is one of my EDCs I really enjoy.

Re: CASE Lockbacks
Hi, Case didn't build all of their lockbacks some were built by Alcas, from what I remember case sent some men to Alcas to learn the geometry after zippo was in with them, my timeing may not be exact. George God bless
