If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

The ad used the term "fast" access.
As computers have evolved the definition of that term has certainly changed!

Yeah, your microwave has more computing power than that thing did. That's a slight exageration to make a point. CPU clock was six microseconds. By today's standards, that's an ox cart compared to a Corvette.

It ran one program at a time and you loaded the program off of punch cards and the data off the same or punched paper tape. Storeage was on the magnetic cards of those CRAM devices or magnetic tape. The CPU had 10K of memory, split into 5K increments in each of two boxes as large as a refrigerator. The most it could handle was 20K. It was honest to God core memory and when you pulled the memory planers out you could see all the little ferrite cores strung on all the tiny hair like wires.

Now that I've managed to put the entire forum to sleep...

Caught a couple of pics of the (EDIT>>>>> NOT A Monarch, SEE BELOW) daily visit. :)

Yeah, I know I need to quit chasin' butterflys and knives for that matter and paint the dang deck. If we could string more than one or two dry days in a row together I might be able to. ::facepalm:: Been a very wet summer around these parts.

I picked up a little 15' Duroboat for quick trips to run crab rings and for hunting.........got these pics while we were letting the crab rings soak. Scored a few very nice Dungeness Crab and enjoyed some really nice weather. The skiff is an older model and I need to find a newer 35hp for it, just running the 8.0hp trolling motor from my other boat for now. The old 25hp Evinrude that came with the skiff is toast.......runs but has low compression and a few other issues.

Wow what a coincidence.
My Father and I went to a place called Longwood Gardens here in Pennsylvania yesterday.
And I got a couple of shots of butterflies.
Same kind too , looks to be the female of the species.

Great shots. Given the long throat that fish has to travel it makes sense the egret wants it in perfect position. ::tu::

I picked up this neat little vacuum pump on the US 127 yard sale. An old farmer sold it to me for $3. Got back to the camper, plugged it up and away it went. I ran it about 20 minutes without a hitch.
