Case factory tour. Anyone been to it?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case factory tour. Anyone been to it?

Post by MTHall720 »

I have been trying to decide if it is worth it to go to the Case factory tour. Problem is I live a 5 hour drive away and with the price of gas and the time involved I only want to go if the tour is quite well done. Anyone been there?

I've taken the Case Factory Tour several times, but at the moment they're doing a lot of expansion work inside the factory and won't be doing tours again until sometime around late 2014. Every other Summer (in even numbered years) they hold a "Case Collector's Appreciation Reunion" which is a great time to take the tour. Between that and the knife give-aways they do, it's worth joining the Case Collector's Club. That way you can log-in to the Case Forum and receive notifications of all upcoming events and the limited edition knives available only at these events. Whether you join or not, you can still take the tour, just not until they finish the renovations.

Thanks very much for the advice! I really like the Case blades I have so far. I have a couple Barlows, a Clasp and a big Toothpick.
