That was some car, the MK3 would be a hand-full to drive.

I think many on the forum will have spent serious time in the Huey. The lad is my nephew; just graduated from 8th grade last night and is already 6 feet tall with size 11 1/2 shoe size. And he hasn't even had his adolescent growth spurt yet! Currently interested in learning aviation mechanics at Southern Illinois U. after high school.

My cousin's boy went to SIU for AvMech. It's a good program. He now has a good job in Green Bay WI, I think with Cessna but don't quote me on that.

Here's a little project my wife and I spent a good part of the day working on. Those are jars of cherry preserves. We have a small cherry tree in our yard that has been loaded with ripe red cherries this year. We managed to beat the birds to them this year and have just completed our first few batches of cherry preserves. They are still cooling so we have not tried any yet. Never did this before so it's somewhat of an experiment. We have another batch of cherries picked and ready to work on tomorrow evening but for now, we've had enough.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Who had the pleasure of pitting all those cherries? I can remember sitting out in the yard at my grandparents place with my cousins, pitting cherries with a bobby pin. I never cared for that kind of work. I would have much rather been off playing in the woods but I sure ate my share of cherry pie and cherry cobbler.

I took a walk up the canyon rim yesterday. I don't know who built the monument or how long it has been there. Just had to prove this old fart could still make it up there. This may have been more fun than pitting cherries but the cherries are going to be enjoyed a lot longer!

Thank you. Alcova Reservoir is the big water, and the North Platte river is flowing thru the canyon. There are 3 or 4 dams along the river here, Alcova being one of them. Before the dams were built, old papers referred to the North Platte river as being "a mile wide and an inch deep" when it flooded.

Thanks Ken. Australia is on my bucket list. Most likely going to stay in the bucket but at least it's in there.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Came dragging this home with me yesterday. It was given to me by my buddy's sister. She's moving and didn't want to take it with her.
It's 30" wide x 15" deep x 50" high, metal over wood and heavy as hell. You should have seen three old men dragging it up the stairs out of her basement. I'm still not real sure what I'm going to do with it, so for now it's still out in the garage.
It's an old medical drug storage cabinet. The top lifts up and there is a clever mechanism that lowers the front at the same time. Behind that is a removable heavy duty milk glass "tray". Nifty stuff. Quarter inch glass top laying on the flat front part that looks like it was original from the factory (American Cabinet Company).
