I Found An Appaloosa For My Sis

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I Found An Appaloosa For My Sis

Post by Mr Rick »

My baby sister is a veterinary assistant and quite the equestrian. Her favorite breed is the Appaloosa, and she has owned several in the past. The Case thread about Appaloosa knives prompted me into action. So, it seemed only fitting that I find her an appropriate Appaloosa bone knife. I think I found the perfect solution in a Case Appaloosa Trapper, in pink, perfect for a young lady. ::tu::

Here are a few pictures.

BTW, I liked the pattern so much I ordered a Case Trapper for myself. But that is another story for another day. ::nod::

Case has a Trapper known as the Equestrian Model with a clip blade and a hoof pick as the secondary blade. Off the top of my head, I don't think they ever made one in Appaloosa though. Lucky sister you got there!

Rick, IIRC that red appaloosa series first appeared as an
exclusive for one of the big retailers then began to show up at
smaller dealers that apparently ordered them direct from Case.
Seemed kinda weird but never heard any behind the scenes story
as to whether Case made more than original order or big dealer
marked them as an exclusive when it wasn't or what.

Usually I like well balanced color on both sides of bone but the
appleLucys are a welcomed exception with their wide variety.
Here two red appaloosa stockmans from same series. I gave
away the red/pink one in an RT or contest.
Kept the 'albino' red ;)

Bob, I gave my pharmacist a non Case equestrian knife I picked up
somewhere since she has 2-3 horses. she's commented several times
how handy it's been to have around.

I posted the dealers picture on the Appaloosa thread. I noticed that I did not get the knife pictured by the dealer. I've also noticed that the dealer appears to have more in stock. They are listed as being introduced in 2007. ::tu::
