Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

And I was being funny right back. Hence all the smilies.

I was not offended.

Sometimes I write without realizing I'm not talking to medical folks.

Hell, I looked it up Charlie. Couldn't resist giving you a little excrement though.

I have, for most of my life, been able to piss people off just by breathing so I've gotten gun shy over the years. Meld that with the written word and a perpetual class clown and now you have a recipe for interpersonal disaster. What's a fella to do. ::shrug::

I'm glad to be here because of the knives and because I don't seem to irritate folks much here (so far).

Yesterday, I took one of my buddies and his girlfriend to the catch the bus for O'Hare Airport and we were doing our usual bicker, snipe, clever repartee (or so we think) and his girlfriend said, "Would you two just shut up!" Of course we didn't.

Charlie,

I got an old truck but I don't think there's any way it will hold up to get all the way up to those mountains.

::hmm:: Reckon a feller could just take the bus ?

Thanks Johnnie and Jerry, I love this camera. It takes great pictures and is so easy to use.
Well except for my wife, she is photographically challenged. She takes a picture and only gets you from the nose down!
The battery charge lasts for a long long time. I got close to four hundred photos on one charge.
I like to use the view finder, that way I can take lots of pictures one right after the other, like a burst mode.
Well worth the money.

::rotflol:: ::rotflol:: ::rotflol:: @ Charlie & Jerry!
You guys remind me of me and my best friend of nearly 40 years.
When we are fishing or playing cards we make all sorts of comments & snide remarks, especially if we have someone else for an audience. That is how we have fun!

My wife doesn't understand that too well. ::shrug:: ::facepalm::

Dale -- As I recall in the Corps and Charlie may tell you the same about the Army, someone was constantly giving somebody a hard time. Calling people names, commenting on sexual proclivities and looks with impunity. No one got mad. No one sulked. No one had a hissy fit over it. No one went to a senior seeking redress. That's just the way it was. Give and take was the order of the day.

This kinder, gentler world is not my home. Except when I'm with my two best buddies or my best friend from the Corps.

Humour in uniform took strange twists at times. I was never sure I understood it completely.

If you were sitting at a table drinking with your friends and you got up to go to the john, you had better carry your drink with you, else one or more, if not all the guys at the table would stir your drink with a particularly odious member of their anatomy.

That was thought to be funny. ::facepalm::

If you were having a good natured argument with someone and you were getting the better of him, he might grab your head, French kiss one of your ears and walk away leaving you wondering if you'd won the argument or not. ::sotb::

The verbal repartee that Jerry describes was constant.

If you're not harassing someones or nailing their flip flops to the tent floor while they are asleep you aren't in the military. I always loved putting big rocks in packs and stapling peoples socks and the sleeve of their uniform blouse they put on second shut so they got jammed up half way in. taping their cigarettes shut was funny too.

Hi johnnie,
In Australia we close the swiming pools down for the day, so they can swim in only half of that rear ::td::
If it's hot, all you need to do is come back the next day - when eveyone can use the pool.
