420HC Broken tip??

Today while doing a high voltage splice thru armored cable :oops: and Yes it was my fault I broke the tip off my Buck quickfire :x My question is how would you go about reprofiling this blade???

Send it to Buck, they will probably replace it for free.

I would call them, tell them I broke the tip and ask them how much they would charge you to replace it.
I expect they will tell you to send it in and fix it for free, but they may charge you a very reasonable fee, but I doubt it.

dogg - Check your other thread on this subject. They charge $10 for blade replacement. I recently checked on it and sent one for repair. PM your email address and I'll send a copy of the email I got back from them.

OK, Say I want to reshape the blade how should I go about grinding it down?? or should I cut it down??? ::shrug::

If youre determined to reprofile the blade, start by grinding the back of the blade first. It's flat, so the contour is easy to follow and it's also a better way to determine the length before you tackle the edge. Etching it out in pencil usually helps too.

WELL I did it :shock: it's a tool pouch knife anyway but I did what I wanted to do which is to beef up the tip,this was fun I can see myself doing this for the guys in the trade when i'm retired but it was scary starting to hit the blade with a wet grinder.I used a Camillus Cubscout knife to etch out the blade tip(thanx Elvis) ::nod::
