If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

A fellow Marine made this and sent it to me. You can't tell from the picture but the stripes stand proud of the background. The crossed rifles feel like a decal. Pretty doggone cool. Had I made Sergeant before I got out, I would have had to find a different place to hang it because it sure wouldn't have fit there.

Cool Jerry! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::
I never made Sgt either, but the Corps doesn't promote very well when you spend your last 10 months in the hospital & outpatient treatment.
I picked up Cpl when I first got to the hospital after being medevaced. Two warrants for promotion, one each from my last two commands, caught up with me in the hospital. That was nice because my pay records caught up about then too!

Awesome stripes Jerry!
I bet someone could make those and sell them!

I made Corporal 40 days before I got out. It was a re-enlistment carrot that didn't work but what do I care. Better than getting out as a L/Cpl which I fully expected to happen.

I was a PFC E-2 for 31 months and Lance Cooley for 13 months so the promotion to Corporal was a big surprise.

I really appreciate Chuck making that and sending it to me. You have to see it in person to appreciate how nice it really is.

My ride from '68 to '70
Image

Had a hot 283 and a 3 speed. Had several different rear end ratio's over time. LOL

Spent as much time under it as I did in it. Blew more than few tranny's and clutches. Fri night and Sat night street drags were the deal. Good thing I had a part time job at a wrecking yard.

Wish I still had it.

Dave, that's just about as miscellaneous as you can get.

For a while, they were giving away something similar at Harbor Freight (I call it China Town) with any purchase. That looks like a better one though.

Willie, the only thing better than a '57 Chevy is a 789 Kanter Concept Muscle Car.

A gracious wrecker company owner gave me two of these the other day (he sells Streamlights and I got him out a bad bind he had going on at wreck). A blue one for me and a pink one for the wife.

Its been really cold here lately.......-25ish with wind. Makes for a nice sunrise on the clear days.
Had to open the dining room window (brrrrrrr) for this pic and it did not really capture the nice
red on the mountains. These peaks are just behind the Mendenhall Glacier.

Yeah, there's a little bit of everything in here. In pic 2, my Grandfather's WW1 Tunic he wore.

then if you got 3 of a kind, you got a free pack of smokes. gave you a gumball with every play.
