For outside pics do you leave the scanner's door open?
How long an extention cord?
Or is simply having the scanner as close to the window
as possible good enough? Tanx ::smirk::
Basically a scanner is a big camera with a preset focal length. The amount of light is controlled by the light source and by covering the item with the top cover.

Theoretically, you could probably use it as you describe if you could figure out a way to control the focus and control the amount of light entering the lens.

There is the stability issue…....you need a big guy to hold it very steady.
Then there is always that pesky cord to deal with……………

Nice shots, Johnnie and Scott.

Speaking of wood - here's an old Southington (1867-1905) that's past the century mark - as is the oil lamp and the mantle clock.

I'm guessing that treadle sewing machine is kicking in the back door on the century mark.

Hi Jerry,

Yep, the Singer sewing machine was my grandmothers. I think it dates to around ~1920.

My father-in-law gave us the clock. It wouldn't stay running so I took it to a clocksmith a few years ago and he tore it down, turned all the spindles and pinions and re-bushed everything. Now it runs..........like a clock.

My mother had one. I did some sewing on it when I was a kid. One thing I made was a sack for my .22 rifle.
