Real nice , Jerry... ... my father-in-law has an old Stevens semi-auto .22.

This Remington Model 34 (circa 1932-1935) was what my Dad used on many a rat at the local dump...still shoots Great!

I used to have a Stevens Favorite, traded it to something?? I've still got a Stevens Crackshot 26. Neat little gun.

Is the Crackshot the predecessor of the Favorite? I'd never seen a Crackshot until I did a little search on it after you mentioned it. To me, it just looks older than a Favorite. Same falling block lever action, and the same crappy leaf extractor but the receiver profile is quite different.

Oops, found this - "Lever action single-shot Favorite (produced between 1894 and 1935) and the Crack Shot #15 (introduced in 1900)."

I traded for my Crackshot and have been told that I got the worst end of the deal. I traded a .22 Mossburg bolt action rifle with a Manlicker(sp) stock with adjustable rear peep sights. The rifle was stamped "Property of U.S. Government". Military training rifle? Don't know how the trade was for me, but I like the Crackshot. Traded a very early TI calculator for the Mossburg.

I would have kept the Mossberg. I've wanted a Ruger with the Mannlicher stock and should have bought the one Walmart had on sale when they were discontinued several years ago. Always a day late and a dollar short.

I'm still kickin myself in the butt for trading off a Steven's 44 1/2 action in 22LR. It had an octagon barrel, pretty stock with a cheek rest, receiver tang sight and a hooded front sight with an ivory bead. It would drive tacks.

Don't even remember what I swapped it off for.

I have one of those coin changers. There's no markings on it anywhere that I could see, so the brand is a mystery. They made an impression on me when I was a kid, so about ten years ago I snagged one off eBay. Mine isn't near as nice as yours though. How fortunate for you that Paul was "culling the herd" and not like my Dad who dragged a trailer load of plunder with him every time we moved (often).

Hi Jerry,
the Stanley tool is a mortice layout gage. It's used to lay out a mortice for a hinge leaf in a door and jamb or to create a mortice for a "mortice and tenon" joint. You could also lay out cut lines for a tenon and probably other uses as well.
I have always used a combination square or a rule with a stop attatched.

Okay, I can now see how that would work. This is the type I have. (Internet picture. I just finished mowing the yard and I'm too hot, sweaty and lazy to go to the garage, dig it out and take a picture.)

Here is some garage sale "stuff" I picked up today.
The little monkey wrench is stamped "Shapleigh Hardware, Diamond Edge".
The old fighter is stamped "Pal" on one side and "U.S.M.C." on the other. It will make a good fixer-upper for somebody.
Is the folding bayonet French or Italian? My feeble mind seems to think it's one or the other. 15" long. OUCH!!!
The old "Moore's Drug Store" bottle is kind of a mystery. It's a local bottle but not even our historical society has ever heard of it. It will date from 1870-1880.

Oh, by the way. S5000, I, too own a Strombecker tool knife. When I was a kid, there were 5 of us that owned those tracks and we used to put them all together. We had a race track that was over 200' long. It was fun...

Wow, 200 feet? Well that stuff much predate me. I remember a kid on my block had some old slot cars but the track was small. Only thing I ever had with track was that old plastic Hot Wheels stuff. My little brother always made sure that it was broken or chewed up.

Those strombecker marked knives I believe were made from the 1950`s-70`s. They were made in Japan and everyone I have ever seen has tiny cracks around the handle pins. I even have seen unused ones in the box with the cracks
