I've been workin' on this one off and on for a few months; still not quite finished, but it's startin' to look like somethin'.

I probl'y won't do much more carvin' on it, as I'll have to start addin' wood here pretty quick!

Ahhh...CASE, very nice! It kinda looked like a stag GEC #56 in yer first post...my eyes ain't too good anymore

...And yer RIGHT! ... I feller can't have enough tools!!! Nice workbench...How do you like yer Henry Taylor tools? Edge retention good on those?

Joe, if you look at the third and fifth picts, you can see some of the carving tools I used. They consist of about a dozen different knives, gouges, scorps and veiner tools. I discovered I could have used a couple more that I don't have to reach some difficult areas.

They all need to be kept very sharp by frequent stropping.

Don, the Henry Taylor tools I picked up at a garage sale. They were all quite dull and I had to reprofile the edge bevels. They are sharp now and seem to hold an edge OK so far, probably not as good as some but better than others.
