new 182

Post by dalea »

I'm a pretty big fan of the old 182 style bokers and have seen a few pictures on the net of a new stag handled version. It's shown with a silver box. Are these made in Germany and is the quality comparable to the old ones?
thanks

Hey Dale,
I like that old deluxe camper's knife too. Unfortunately a lot of people do, and I haven't been able to find a CHEAP one
I don't think either the Magnum or Plus series (Tiawan & China) make this model.
Boker lists two versions in their catalog. Both are made in Solingen Germany.
111869 has flamed chestnut scales, $149. This one has the 140 JAHRE shield. It came out January 2009.
110182HH is the stag version $189
4034 stainless steel blades on both.
I've held one of the new ones (stag) in my hands and it "feels" great! Having never seen one of the originals up close I can't compare the quality.

rangerbluedog,

Great, that's the kind of answer I was hoping for. I spent twenty years wishing they made one in stag!
thanks
