Real Nize EZO closeup O.W.
Dave, I'm guessin' he does it to you because....he can.
Decided time to pracktize indoor shooting since it's 16-35 degrees all this week.
One of 'em happens to have a swedge cut, imagine that.

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
Schrade did a good job of designing these whittler blades. The combination of facets, including the swedges, makes a nice play on the reflections of light. I'll bet a camera can do even better - one of these days . . . . . . . . .

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
I'm nearly certain that it is an optical illusion, but the main blades on those seems to have a different grind from the other blades.... Gotta be an illusion!

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
New knife, GEC Northfield sunfish, but has a long pull and swedges. The pull side is swedged to the end of the pull and the pile side is swedged to the tang, makes an interesting profile from the top view. Have not tried any outdoor pics yet as per advice from Wullie as it has been cloudy and cold here the last few days.

Here is a nice swedge on this Schatt & Morgan harness jack that I am selling now in the Knife Auctions forum for Johnnie Fain's widow.
If you really like it, make a bid. It goes to a great cause!

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
That HJ is one of my SFOs that I sent to Johnnie. It is all 1095 steel, with hard snap on the blades, especially the punch for safety reasons.
The punch is simple but effective, and knowtracks tells me, very much appreciated by people who work with leather in his neck of the woods.
That model, was my hottest seller, and were sold out long ago!
I saved back one, or I'd be bidding to buy it back!!

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
All wonderful knives gentlemen, every one of them. thawk, that Diamond Edge 3 bladed stockman has blade cuts that resemble the Case new grind blades that Case did for a couple of years back in the 1980's before dropping it. Thanks for the info on the HJ Dale. Keep the pictures coming guys.

Yep, you right Dave.
Thawk's offerings definitely not yo' momma's 34OT.
Here's one that was apparently an SFO from SHC in 2000
Old Red 6220 SS double pull w/swedge, qty made 1000

Here's BIG old CHALLENGE folder. This thing is bigger than a BUCK 307!

The main blade is swedged on both sides and the pen is swedged on one.

Re: Blades with Swedge Cuts
I'll start with the smallest swedge I have seen, about 1/4 inch long on the blade of this KaBar one hand man...

I love seeing swedges on radical clips blades such as this one...

It is nice to see modern knives with well done swedges, I love the way the forward nail nick is incorporated into the swedge on this Colt...

And to my eye a correctly done swedge on a spear point says it all...
