Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
This arrives a week and a half ago, with handles in poor condition and a broken secondary. The pivot pin was brass and had sheared internally, so the action was really weak. I replaced the handles, eliminated the stub and put a nickel silver pin in it--now it snaps with authority (read: be careful or you'll lose a finger!).

Picked up a pair of 206’s they’ll get some pocket time. Both have been rehandled in amber winterbottom bone. They look fantastic (done by Jeff, not me)

Just found this at a flea market for $10. I only wanted to pay five but…
Strong snap excellent walk and talk minimal blade wobble. Considering the age I think that’s pretty good. Curious as to what the wood is. Well used blade but it obviously was used as intended.

It is not always easy to tell old cocobolo from ebony, as it darkens with age. But cocobolo is probably what you have.

Thanks, I was kind of thinking the same. I haven’t seen a lot of Ebony, but it didn’t look dark enough. I’ve already used it to prune roses and it works great!
