how about a cross section picture so we can see how thick she is? :)
It isn't very thick at all. He had some big ol thick gnarly stuff but I liked the looks of the piece I picked the most.

I didn't want it much fatter than it already is due the fact that I'm carrying it. Been out of town a few days. I'll see what I can do when I get a chance. Usually dark by the time I get home.

Case marches on!! This is a wonderful thread, full of the oldies. I come back and review it often, just for the pleasure of seeing these nicely made knives again!
I found my picture of these; Tested 6235-1/2Ps.
3 1/4" greenbone Jacks, I can see them being both useful, and easy to carry.

I've got a few more knives, but I've run out of pictures Dimitri!!
In fact I was just scanning these two. And I've got some questions about them.
These are XX 62055s, one rough black, and one smooth black.
The nice thing about Case's "black" handles is, they rarely shrink, unlike some others. The Rough knife here seems to be a later knife. Note the common pull, and the pattern number on the tang.
The smooth one has a long pull, cut swedges, and no number. I think this makes it closer to the Tested era, but I don't know for sure. Anyone??

Charlie,

The Case slick black handles do seem to hold up well over time. I have never seen one go bad yet.

Acording to Sargent`s book they used slick black and rough black on tested era 55`s

They also used both nail pulls during that era on their knives.

Steve should know for sure, maybe he will stop in with an answer.

This knife is actually quite rare! It is a 2245B&G.
It was intended as a Budding and Grafting knife, and few survive, or were made, as far as I can tell.
Not exactly a "sexy" collectible knife, but I love it just the same ::paranoid:: !

I thought the light was different on the second pic, and you closed the pen blade, and it was the perspective hiding the closed pen!! Duh!! Sorry.
Well I like the two blade more, but they are both nice ones!!
Tell me, is the single blade bone handled or delrin?

Yeah the 22055 with long pull was early in the XX era. In fact I just got a mint one and it has long pull and the old closed C shield.

BTW, Charlie those Case harness jacks are 35 patterns not 31's.
