Vintage CASE Folding Knives

I searched this forum and was surprised to find that no one has started a thread on vintage Case knives.
By vintage I mean from the Case XX era or before.

With so much interest in old Case knives and with so many questions from novice and experienced collectors, I thought this would be a good place to find genuine old Case knives that can be used as a reference.

I will be posting some pictures and descriptions of the ones I have. If anyone else has some oldies put them in this thread!

I'll play! Here is a Case Tested Harness Jack that came from a factory display board during the bad old days of Parker's reign (and almost ruin) at Case. A checkered history, but preserved for posterity!

Here is that HJ again, with 2 more of the same pattern, but one has a different punch.
The pattern number is 62074 1/2 PU.
The middle one is a Case Bradford.

Here is an old Tested era Saddlehorn, 4 5/8" long closed, jigged bone handles. In it`s original as found condition with decades of patina on the blade and other metal surfaces.

This is an attractive old knife

That redbone is Awesome!

If you could get some closeups of the tang stamps on some of your mint knives.

Nothing like looking at original tang stamps when you are trying to determine if a knife you want to buy is authentic or not.

M.B. The bolsters are grooved and pearl slid in, dove tailed you might say. If you have the knife in hand you can tell the pearl is original. It is really thin and small chips all around the edges.

Stockman, that 6245 is a beauty! It's so nice to see a Case in Rogers bone!!
Here's a 6245P in Red Winterbottom. It's pretty worn, but it's rare too!!

This is not as old as most but still vintage. Case XX U.S.A. pattern no.8233

Thanks Charlie for the comment on the 45. It is nice to see some Winterbottom on Case it is seldom seen. Here is the pile side of a old 65 pattern I showed the back because of its beauty. the front is also nice.

Here's a Redbone Case XX 6380, along with one from the 1980s.
The old one is slimmer, and more finely fitted. The newer one is nice, but is a little clunky by comparison.

That flat bolster barlow sure is attractive!

The jigged bone handles on the old knives cannot be beat.

The jigging on the new knives just isn`t the same.

I wonder what the Case factory did with all the old Jigging machines?

Maybe Jim Parker sold them all

Here is a new Case knife given to me as a gift. The handles are red jigged bone. No comparison at all to your old red bones Charlie!

It would be just like Jim Parker to sell the tooling, pocket the cash, and subcontract it out!

That's one sweet barlow there Charlie...never seen one like that...A pair of XX's here...6165 and 61050...note the stamps...could that give some clue as to the age...early or late in the XX era..?
