That is a mighty pretty knife. My work! Such detailQTCut5 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 1:37 amThe mood and atmosphere you've created in your photo is evocative and perfectly suited to the knives, Mel, and inspires a lot more than a thousand words; it invokes a thousand years of Celtic history. Well done![]()
Here's my little tribute to Celtic lore....Although I am pretty certain the ancient Celts did not have Russlocksthe inlaid designs are intended to depict Celtic style. I don't know the symbolism of the sword and rose on the pile side, but the interlocking "Celtic knot" style of the Seahorse on the mark side is obvious.

Beautiful knife. I do not recognize the symbolism either. That is definitely the most intriguing Ruslock that I have seen!QTCut5 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 1:37 am Here's my little tribute to Celtic lore....Although I am pretty certain the ancient Celts did not have Russlocks the inlaid designs are intended to depict Celtic style. I've been a bit under the weather, it's rained frequently, and I've had to catch up on yard work. All of which have contributed to my not taking any photos for a few days so here are a couple from the archive. Hope you enjoy them.

Re: Knife Photography
Not sure this qualifies as “light duty” but it is a very photogenic knife, so I use mine for photography (and sometimes “light humor”)

Q, very nice,
Is that considered light humor or is a knife between the eyes heavy humor?

Re: Knife Photography
Great pic Q! Beautiful knife and I love the totem/tiki heads.
It's raining here again, these pics are from our walk yesterday. I'm still trying to perfect getting foreground and background both in focus at the same time with only limited success.

Mahalo, Tim & Squach
I like the light contrast in your second photo, Squach, with the foreground illuminated against the dark forest in the background....very dramatic
Steve, although I can see how it would be easy to misinterpret my photo as a brutal representation of violence, it's actually not as diabolical as it may appear. The knife is supposed to be the horn protruding from the head of a magical, mythical "unicorn man." So, you see, it's light and whimsical not heavy and dark at all
Fingers, I like your clever interpretation
I wonder if I could license it to the makers of Tylenol for use in pain relief marketing campaigns
Here's another shot of my Wharncliffe Wednesday knife for today

I remember watching an old episode of the Brady Bunch
"Hawaii Bound", where the Brady family travels to Hawaii and encounters a tiki idol that brings bad luck to anyone who touches it...
... Q...
I am worried that have put yourself at terrible risk and potentially great harm!!
... I hope that you are OK so far...
If we don't see any more post from you, at least we will have an idea of what caused your disappearance to happened
.....
What will really be scary is if Q finds Vicent Price when he goes to return the Idol. We need to stop it’s showing our age. That is heavy and not humorous at all.
