I just received a text from my brother that David Allan Coe passed yesterday.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I have pondered the words to Take This Job And Shove it many times over the years.
“The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.” (Paulo Coelho)
Men make plans and God laughs
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

i woke last night to the sound of thunder
how far off i sat and wondered
started humming a song from nineteen sixty two
aint it funny how the night moves

Willie is still going strong, he may be the last of the original Outlaws.

D.A.C. sang the hell out of "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" although he didn't write it. It came from the minds of two other greats who have also passed, Steve Goodman and John Prine. RIP to all three icons. Sadly, they jes' ain't makin' 'em like 'at no more. J.O'.
