Good to see you posting again Garry, it’s been awhile since I last saw a post of yours. I like those A.G. Russell TR knives, I always thought that was a great idea of his to commemorate the Texas Rangers. I wonder what his connection was to the Rangers, if there was a personal connection?

Beautiful Kevin. Eureka Jacks are one of my favorite patterns. That’s quite an impressive collection.knifeaddict1965 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 5:16 pm Reviving this thread after adding a few Eureka Jacks recently.

I picked up another big ol' Bulldog Anglo-Saxon Whittler in Shepherdsville to go with that sub-collection as well. And man... At over 5" closed, these things are huge.

Nice collection of Anglo Saxon whittlers Kevin.
I picked up another Ron Lake tail lock this past week. I already had the pearl handled one, the stag is new to me. Really tight run up on these. This tail lock is a pretty neat invention. This is probably the closest I will get to owning a real Ron Lake knife.

Thanks Kevin and Tony.
Kevin, those are all nice sub collections. I have a thing for easy open jackknives and that combination looks great.

First time I laid eyes on the tail locks I was hooked but at that time even the copies were out of range for me, so needless to say the Ron Lake originals were just something to admire.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 9:11 pm Nice collection of Anglo Saxon whittlers Kevin.

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
They are pricey on the authorized version like I have, but surprisingly they aren’t as much as I thought they would be. A real Ron Lake tail lock could be thousands. These are one of those knives you just have to keep an eye open for years and just stumble into it at the right price. Those knives I keep on a mental list, I search for all the time. That’s what I like about collecting.Fingers wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2026 1:03 pmFirst time I laid eyes on the tail locks I was hooked but at that time even the copies were out of range for me, so needless to say the Ron Lake originals were just something to admire.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 9:11 pm Nice collection of Anglo Saxon whittlers Kevin.
