Hello everyone!

I’m sure this question has been answered somewhere in the forum so I apologize if I’m asking a repeated question. Where can I buy pins for handle repair? Getting more and move involved and went to give this a go. Is it just bar or round stock in brass/steel from any hardware store or do I need to look for something specific?

I find brass rods at hobby/craft stores, and occasionally at an Ace Hardware store.
I order silver nickel rods from Jantz supply.

I have had this motor sitting around for a while and decided to put it to work. It is a 1/2 HP, 3450rpm with a 1/2 inch shaft from a Jacuzzi tub pump. A 1/2 inch mandrel with 1/2 X 20 threads was attached and a used keyless chuck from an old cordless drill was attached to that. Now I have the option of using a 1/4 inch mandrel with buffing wheels or a 3 foot flexible shaft that takes Dremel tool accessories (shown in pic).

Quick question hopefully someone won’t mind answering. I have been reading through this thread, but haven’t found an answer. Which dremel tool bit or bits do you gentlemen use to grind pin material when removing scales and bolster pins please?
Any tips are greatly appreciated.

A small ball end cutter is what I used to grind the head off the rocker (center) pin. Never use a drill or Dremel cutter on bolster pins. They are cut from the inside by using a utility knife blade slipped down between the blades and liners.

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a replacement of my old Jensen Tools 1B017 flush cutting nipper? This one belonged to my dad, so it is old indeed but has served well. Are there any American made pliers of this type still being made? It is 4 and 3/4 inches overall.

I did a search for them on eBay and it appears Channellock makes them.
Also check Xuron.com. They make all kinds of small hand tools. My ex-wife's uncle started that company years ago....made in Maine.

I had been using my Jet mini lathe as a power head with a drill chuck on a #2MT to turn various brushes, sanding drums, and buffing wheels. This is less than ideal as it puts wear and tear on a wood lathe that isn't needed. Then the other day I was looking thru my pile of salvaged parts from old power tools from my last job before I retired. I found this quill from a heavy duty drill press, with bearings, and a #2 MT. So I rigged up a mount for it with a piece of 4 x 1/4 inch steel and 2 muffler clamps. The riser underneath that is for now some 2X blocks to bring it up to a comfortable working height. Everything on my "work center" is salvaged from old power tool parts. 9 inch disc sander with 1 and 1/2 Hp motor, 4 x 16 drum sander with 1 and 1/2 Hp motor, and the power head has a 3/4 Hp motor. Now that the snow has melted here, I will check out our local steel scrap dealer for some steel tubing pieces to replace the 2X lumber spacers.
