Ka-bar Identification

I've got some Ka-bar knives im having a bit of trouble finding out in the internet ether. Looking for some insight, I have my thoughts but I want to get other opinions on them first. Thanks in advance knife friends.

No worries, i was leaning in your direction, was just looking for some other sets of eyes. Its a bit of a giveaway when I can't find the same model, on something that doesnt look 50+ years old, and the Ka-bar gunstocks dont really have that shape, but Ka-bar has been such a mess its hard to believe anyone would want to make fakes, but they're out there

I have seen some dog heads with the nose pointed down, but forget what the general consensus was?

The green bone jack is a complete fake. The stag barlow is a club knife or limited edition, 1980's to 90's.

The gunstock like Steve says is a modern fake. The barlow may be a limited edition sold by KA-BAR but it certainly wasn't made by them.

First thing to learn about KA-BAR dog head knives is that the originals - made in the KA-BAR/Union Cut era, pre-1940 - were all large patterns. All 4-1/2" and over - folding hunters like the Case 65 and 050 patterns, the large "banana" lockback and the similar hobo pattern, and the jumbo trapper like the Remington R1123.

There were no small patterns made back then with the dog head shield. So if you see a trapper, jack, barlow, stockman, or penknife with the dog head, it is either a modern fake or it is an authorized repro or club knife. Queen made most of these, but Camillus made some.

Regarding the OP knife specifically, in addition to what I just wrote about the patterns, the stamps and blade grinds look like modern faked blades, the dog head shield is wrong.

I believe Canal Street has made some recent dog heads for KA-BAR.
