djknife13 wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 12:16 pm Good morning. David, have you heard from your grand daughter yet? Yeah, that's an awful tragedy. I've been in a flood where many lives were lost and I know the pain my parents went through waiting to hear if we had survived. Jane and I and our three babies ages 2 and 4 month old twins, came real close to being swept away so I know the pain those families are feeling. It's a beautiful morning here after a weekend of rain and storms. Church is in a few hours and I'll go alone today. Jane is doing well but not quite up to going anywhere yet. Jason and Melody left for a couple days to the Twin Cities with our grand daughter and her kids, so it's nice and quiet around the homestead. Take care and remember to pray for David's grand daughter and Tom's wife Silvia.____Dave
Good Morning Everyone!
Thanks for the prayers everyone. Right now they say the water in their area has gone down but they're not sure if it was enough. There is one road that might be passable later this afternoon. I just pray someone doesn't get foolish and drive into the water and it's still too high because the pictures I've seen that water is still moving fast. Please pray this nightmare will be over soon.... ::pray::

She made it out! As a matter of fact the water dropped quickly on the road they were watching and everyone made it out of the camp and are on the way home. Praise the Lord for His mercy and answered prayer.... ::pray::

Good morning. 52 degrees to start the day. It feels good to be talking about weather again instead of more serious stuff. I do have to try to figure out what to get Jane for her birthday in a couple days. She is hard to buy for, or else I'm just lousy at it. She doesn't like tools or knives and they don't have clothes she likes at the hardware store where I get mine. I'd take her out to dinner but she is still on a soft food diet and is sticking pretty close to home for a few days. Oh well, I'll figure out something. Hope you all have a great week and be safe.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
Words can't express what so many are experiencing this morning concerning the Texas tragedy. An Independence Day weekend end we will not soon forget, great celebrations then such devastation. ::teary_eyes::
Hazy morning, big rain off shore in the Gulf, we've had 2 days without rain. 74° low temperature this morning.
Hang in there, continue praying for the Texas folks and please don't forget Miss Jane and Miss Silvia as they recuperate from surgery.

Good Morning Everyone!
I think we all slept better last night knowing Grace was okay but the bigger issue now is finding those that are still missing and the impact on farming and ranching. It looks like my daughter's house and their church in Comfort is going to be okay.

Have a blessed day and please continue to pray for those in South Texas..... ::pray::

I'm sorry I forgot about Jane and Silvia, I pray their recovery goes without any problems.

Good Mornin', Folks.
73° this morning, only got to 90 yesterday. We started on our afternoon walk yesterday afternoon and we had a bunch of thunder overhead, back in the house but no rain. According to the radar, it's raining in Panama City right now, we're heading that way in about 45 minutes for 2 doctor appointments. A tummy specialist and the dermatologist, offices are across the street from each other, one at 7:40, the other at 10:00.
Did a bunch of bush hogging yesterday until dinner time.
Coffee's ready, let's start the day. ::tu::

Good morning. Nice day ahead and the next few days are supposed to be near perfect temps with rain coming in on Friday. We are still working on the bathroom remodel with grouting planned today on the floor and walls. Jane and I went to the Chinese buffet past night. She had a little trouble finding soft stuff that her mouth could handle and some things that were supposed to be soft were rubbery instead, but it still was good getting out. I needed a few things from town and she was ready to get out of the house. Have a good Tuesday.____Dave

Morning folks, 68 the low mid 80's for the high ,slight chance of pop-ups this afternoon. We had a nice shower about noon yestiddy got almost of a quarter of an inch. Heavy rain in parts of Nashville, thought we'd get some more yestiddy afternoon as the thunder and lighting was putting on a show but the rain went east and west of us. At least I didn't have to drag that old water hose.
Wampus was in attendance I fixed him a new food station, he seemed pleased.
PT on this old shoulder this morning.
Sure good news for Jane glad she's doing well and the cancer hadn't spread. Hope she has a speedy recovery. God bless. 🙏
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Good Mornin', Folks.
75°as the sun comes up over Starvation Plantation.
Made our trip to Panama City yesterday without any problems. Miss Joy was scheduled for an endoscopy on the 25th of July. We checked our Medicare suppliment policy and realized the hospital where the procedure will take place is not in the "network". No problem upgrading policy but procedure can't be done until 1st of August. So that adds at least another week to the wait. Good news is the doctor prescribed a non-narcotic medicine that has made her tummy feel much better!
I sure detest talking to robots! It seems almost every business office has quit answering the phone in person! :x
Looks like mowing with the zt is about to begin again, can't go more than a week or it gets out of hand. Need to shorten up the yards and rent all the grass out to my neighbor for his cows. ::hmm::
Time to have Miss Joy's car serviced, don't know how we had time to do anything when we were gainfully employed! ::shrug::
Wednesday evening adult bible study tonight. The children and youth are off for the month of July.
Coffee's been poured, y'all have a blessed day.
