Floods In South Texas

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Floods In South Texas

Post by dlr110 »

This is a devastating situation down in the Texas Hill Country in which many lives have been lost and there is no telling how high the property damage will be. My daughter and her family live in Comfort, TX and the Guadalupe River runs right through there. They live several miles away from the river so they have not been flooded (yet). The bigger concern at the moment is my granddaughter Grace. She is on staff at one of the summer camps down there and they are trapped at their location, all roads in and out have been flooded. They are located in an elevated area so they are okay right now and still have utilities and food but if that river keeps rising the situation will change very quickly. Someone said that if they are still there by Monday or Tuesday they might have to be air lifted out by helicopter. Please pray for everyone down there for safety and for the rain to stop and the waters to recede.

Prayers for all impacted by this horrible tragedy. It is a beautiful area along a normally peaceful and picturesque clear water river, which is home to many parks, resorts, and summer camps, and a vacation destination for many families. Seeing the pictures on the news it’s difficult to imagine that raging torrential river being the same place we have visited so many times with our family. ::uc:: ::tear::

Here are a few pictures of the then-peaceful Guadalupe River taken while on a family vacation at a church camp there. Posted several years ago. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... 11#p650011. Scroll down for a few more pictures from RalphAlsup, aka Texas Jerry.

Prayers for Grace and all others stranded, and for those who perished. 🙏 Very tragic. 😔
