I'm working on getting my med's squared away. My nurse granddaughter took me to my doctor's appointment yesterday. Good thing she did. She can hear better than I can and understands what the Doctor is talking about (she translates later  )

My new knife came on Tuesday. It's a Case Trapper with "Veteran" on the handle and U.S.Marine Corps on the main blade. I just love it.

My best to all.
Hey, Marine!
I don't usually post in to the FCD except in the morning but saw jerryd6818 made a post this afternoon.
Glad you got your own personal nurse! I completely understand about having two sets of ears.
Can't beat a Case Trapper, especially one like that! Semper Fi. ::marine_salute::
Just got back from town, had to pick up some bolts at Tractor Supply and stop at the bank. We'll guess what, it's Juneteenth and the bank was closed! ::shrug:: Just found out it's a Federal holiday, reckon we're a little behind times here in LA (lower Alabama).

Mornin' Y'all

As usual I'm up earlier than I want to be. Gonna be a long day, so I made the pot extra stout!

Need to finish packing, a couple of stops in town, and then we're on the road to PCB. Hopefully we
can get there by mid-afternoon. Traffic in Montgomery, Troy and Dothan always sux !

My wife finally let me in on her plans for this trip. Seems our buddies Wanda and Ken will be there,
the inaugural trip with their camper. The two wives cooked up a scheme to surprise the two hubbies with
a late Father's Day gift ... a six-hour deep sea fishing trip !!! Not the typical 3-6 guys to a boat,
but over 60 people lined up around the gunwhale ::uc::
Not sure how I feel about the arrangement, but the wife has a bag packed with everything I should need to survive.
All the fishing stuff is supplied. I could have my catch (IF any) served up for dinner that evening, at extra $$

So .... if yawl don't hear from me by Monday, assume I got buried at sea

Good morning Folks.
Chris Hope your fishing trip goes well and you have fun and fish to eat afterwards. That’s cool that the wives planned this for you 2 hubbies .
Today is back to town and get some things done that couldn’t do yesterday because of a federal holiday! Or maybe there is another holiday today and banks are closed again! Better check first.
Didn’t make it out fishing yesterday cause of weather. Maybe later today .
Tom, your photos are amazing . Thanks for posting pics of the area you live in.
You all have a good one out there.

Good Mornin' Folks.
Chris, you might as well add Panama City and Panama City Beach to the terrible traffic. Probably not as bad as Spring break traffic but it's still crazy to me!
69° this morning, we hit 92 yesterday and didn't have any measurable rainfall.
Had a pretty good workday, changed the blades on the zt, replaced 2 broken bolts on the rolling cultivator. That turned out to be more of a job than anticipated. Thankful for our impact wrench! One good thing about the Lilliston rolling cultivator is that most bolts on it are the same size carriage bolts needing a 3/4" impact socket. ::tu:: The tales we could tell about patching up old tractors and implements! ::hmm::
Need to go to the bank today, about to run out of checks. Probably need to buy another vacuum cleaner. Not sure what has happened to the old one but it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do yesterday. Maybe I can get it going again. We have a whole house vacuum system but we don't use it for some reason. Last time I checked it was still working. ::shrug::
Coffee was good this morning, hope your was too.
Have a great day! ::tu::

Good morning. I had to sign in o AAPK again this morning. It usually makes me do that about once a week and I don't have a clue why. I don't sign out and it works the other 6 days. After two nearly full days of doctor and medical tests with Jane, I'm off to work like a normal day. We are making a material run and ordering some windows. The weather people are warning us to be ready for some hot days ahead. I don't do well with heat. That is why I live up here a Frost Bite Falls (for you Bullwinkle fans). Nothing out of the ordinary planned for the weekend. Have a good one.____Dave

Morning folks, 63 was the low heading to around 90. Beautiful sunshine after a few days of off and on rain.
Wampus was on the tractor seat all curled up high and dry.
Enjoyed the family get together yestiddy, stopped at the mailbox when we got home, nothing. Broke down a bunch of boxes got the trash together and took it to the trash/recycle dump, stopped at the farmers mkt for maters got home stopped at the mailbox, nothing went in the house remark that the mail still hadn't run, ask the boss if it was a holiday, not that she knew of, oh wait it juneteenth. We'd forgot all about it.
Sat around for a bit then checked to see if it'd dried up enough to mow, looked good to go so I got about two thirds done before I got hungry and quit, will finish up after buddies day at Hooters.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Just got back from breakfast at a local coffee shop. Excellent breakfast sandwich. Cold brew coffee. Kids are with my sister so I was able to enjoy the meal with my wife in a calm and quiet manner.

I haven't been able to post as much here or elsewhere on the forum lately. Summer started and the pace of things went from warpspeed to plaid (space balls reference). My wife and I have a side business food stand selling ribbon fries. Equipment upgrades and a new (really old) camper trailer to work on have added alot to the standard preparation for upcoming events. We worked hard for three days getting everything in order for an event yesterday, but we had to cancel because our new luggage rack was riding too low on the back of our van. Putting a brand new $1200 fryer 3 inches off the ground on the highway for a two hour drive seemed unsafe. Have to order a hitch rise extension to give us 10 more inches of ground clearance. Lost out on a 75 dollar vendor fee and the cost of 2 gallons of cheese and 100 pounds of potatoes. A true live and learn moment.

Today I'm hoping to use the time without kids around to catch up on some correspondence and work on a knife display project. I'm repurposing thrifted wood pieces into knife displays. Currently working on a wall calendar turned kitchen cutlery display showing the variety of serration types. The time would have been spent cleaning out greasy hotel pans and cheese pots had we attended our event though, so I'll take this small consolation prize.

Have a good one dude my dudes ::tu::

(My new fryer next to the old one. 12 gallons vs 4. Powered by twin flamethrowers. Pretty medieval 8) )

Another beautiful dawn, Tom. It is a lovely dawn here in Blue Grass country as well.

May have to send my car into the shop if I cannot resolve an issue with it.

Good Mornin'!
Wow, Tom! You are bringing us some wonderful pictures and you're absolutely correct about the beauty of dawn.
Garry, sorry you're having car trouble. Years ago we could usually figure out what was wrong with a car or truck but not anymore. Can't even find the spark plugs nowadays. ::shrug::
I thought about Chris (royal0014) several times yesterday afternoon. They were heading for PCB and the noontime local news said there was a big water main break that affected most of the beach all the way west to the Walton County line. The evening news reported the break was repaired but they would be under a "boil water notice" for a while. ::shrug:: Hope it didn't mess them up.
Had a fairly easy day, put on my vacuum cleaner repairman hat and got the machine operating again. It's amazing how poorly made some of the brand name stuff is made and put together. Made it to the bank and got our checks ordered. With all the rain showers from the last few weeks, we are still having to water some potted plants and the small patch of Centipede plugs we're trying to cultivate.
Coffee was good this morning. Y'all enjoy the warm weather!

Good morning. We appear to be having a beautiful morning here as well. I haven't heard a weather prediction lately and earlier in the week they told us to be ready for HOT HOT HOT on Sunday. I'm debating if I have enough energy left to go into the church to do some work on our sound room. Last night we had thunder storms and Gypsy made sure I knew she didn't like it and wasn't going to settle down without my hand hanging over the edge of the bed and resting on her head. I just heard on TV that we are suppose to hit 100 degrees tomorrow. When it gets hot here, it get muggy wet hot, as opposed to dry heat that some places in the country enjoy. The local weather just came on and it says it will only get to 85 in Duluth so we'll probable settle in around 90. It sure is beautiful out now. Have a good weekend and stay cool.____Dave

Been AWOL for a bit, 1st day of summer hit with a vengeance yesterday, 95, more of the same today and tomorrow.97 and 98 predicted along with humidity. And wind.
Grandson that had been living in my basement has moved out, Yah! He trashed the couch, got a new on delivered yesterday and working on deep cleaning the entire area. He was a slob. I know, my fault for letting him get away with it. ::shrug::
Couple of free outdoor music concerts this evening but I'm thinking too gosh darn hot for this old board. So a Sunday indoor one is planned.
Work today, step-grandson is planning to stop by with his family, haven't seen them for 10 years. His wife is from the area so they are visiting.
Time to get a movin", Keep cool!

Good morning. Beautiful cool 60 degrees to start the day but we are supposed to get a repeat of yesterday's 90 degree muggy stuff so we'll shut the house down soon and it should stay cool in here pretty much all day. We have a near full canopy of tree cover over the house and it's pretty well insulated. Our old central AC unit doesn't cool it much anymore and needs to be replaced. We usually only get a few days each summer that we really need AC, and that is when the nights don't cool down, which is not very often. Church in a few hours and nothing much else planned for the day. I took a really nice 24 speed mountain bike for a short ride last night that we got out of one the garages we cleaned out, and that actually made my achy legs feel better. Everything I have done to strengthen them over the past couple years have made them ache more. This just might be he ticket I've been looking for. Have a good Sunday.____Dave

Mornin' Y'all

Beautiful day here in PCB. Yellow flag day. Yes, we heard about the water main late in the day, but first thing
yesterday morning we had no hot water for a shower. Seems our motel had a breakdown and they can't get the part until Monday. Stuff happens ....

Fishing trip went well yesterday, I caught a few of something. I don't know saltwater fishes. I gave my catch to Ken.

We'll head home in a couple hours. I believe a stop at Ihop was decided.

Good Mornin', Folks!
72° this morning with clear skies so far. Late yesterday afternoon before sun down we had a lot of thunder, no lightning visible, just rumbling in the clouds. It must have rained some where as the temperature dropped about 15° to 78°.
We amost got overheated yesterday morning scratching around in what's left of our garden. We're feeling our age!
Anticipating a great church service in a few hours then that wonderful Sunday afternoon nap!
Watching the news concerning Iran this morning.
Hoping everyone has a good Sunday.

Wow...I'm one of the first in. Currently 75* and muggy here in the Missouri Ozarks and we're looking at a high of 92* and possible tstorms. Not much on the agenda today. Staying in, staying cool and some computer baseball. Hope y'all have a great day and as they said on The Andy Griffith Show, "Good Sabbath." Remember to be safe, be careful and be alert.

98 yesterday and more of the same today. Along with wind.
I wish I had never heard the news last night, not much sleep. My mind kept going in circles of “what ifs”
And before all that, when I came home from work the AC was sounding weird. I shut it off, 3 hours later turned it back on and it sounded normal. Shut it off again when I went to bed. Started when I got up, sounds fine. So is a wait and listen. Maybe my hearing was wonky!?!

Good morning.Rainy start to the day with some thunder over night. Today is supposed to be around 80. Yesterday was a near perfect 76 for a high. Jane has her pre-op appointment this morning and maybe will find out the results of the PET scan hopefully giving us an indication of what the surgery will be like and what the follow-up procedures might be like. She still has a C-scan this week and surgery next Monday. I'm not sure if Jane wants me to go with her to the appointment today. It's at a local clinic and pretty routine as opposed to driving in the city. I hope you all have a good week.____Dave
