HELP! Looking for Knife Prices/Values !!!

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

HELP! Looking for Knife Prices/Values !!!

Post by WhiskeyTango333 »

Hey Yall! I was recently left a knife collection, and I am not an avid knife collector. Hints my plead for help. I have attempted to value the pocketknives however the two sources I used, well google proved them untruthful. I took bulk pictures and made an inventory list with the details I could find. I would like to sell them once I am able to find a fair price, I have been approved to sell on this platform. Also is it possible to sell all these Case Knives in one lot or is that not realistic?

Welcome to AAPK. My condolences for your loss.

In trying to help you with these, I have a few recommendations. The Research section here, accessible by clicking on it in the header at the top of this page, has a fairly good section about Case Knives including pattern numbers, names, how to determine the age, etc. Great place to find out more about your knives. Second, recommend you read the posts about knife values here viewtopic.php?t=77592, particularly the part about using eBay advanced search of sold listings to find values, difficulties determining value from photographs, etc. An item is worth what the seller and buyer agree on at the time.

If your goal is to simply liquidate them as quickly as possible, you can try selling them in groups, or as a single group. A dealer (several dealers are members here) might buy them all. But a dealer is in it to make some money, so they are not going to pay full value - they need to mark them up for resale. If your goal is to maximize the return, your best prices will be to sell them individually, which may take longer and requires more work on your part. You’ll need to research each knife to describe it, and determine a price for your listing.

To sell here on AAPK you’ll need to buy a premium membership, which will allow you to list them for sale in the Knife Commerce forum. viewforum.php?f=49 You can find out about premium memberships by clicking in the box on the upper right of this page where it says Support AAPK.

Good luck.
