Very nice!!Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:02 pm Very interesting knife Eustace, looks like something practical for cleaning fish.
This one just arrived yesterday. Trying to fill out my RCC collection. Got this Congress with mastodon ivory scales. Simply beautiful. There is just something about a Congress knife that speaks to me.

Thanks chickenman, sorry about the bidding war. I was glad that you stopped before it went to my max. I tend to get laser focused on a knife when I want it for my collection.chickenman62 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 11:47 pm I believe I was bidding against you on that one. It looks way nicer in your pictures. I think I might be a tad jealous. I do like Robesons better than Schatt and Morgan.
Thanks woodwalker.

Thank you, Mark, I appreciate the additional information. If you're going to attempt collecting all those spin-off brands you'd better get started, there's lots of them and you're not getting any younger! lol!Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 10:43 pmThanks Mark. These were made by Queen. I think that the Robeson line that Queen made is just as good as the Schatt and Morgan line. They used different scales on the Robeson’s than the S&M so if you want to collect a pattern you need to collect the other brands that Queen made. Colonel Coon knives are also made with mostly different scales, stag is the exception. If a person were to go after all the Congresses made by Queen or any pattern, it would encompass a whole lot of other brands to collect all the various handle materials. Something I might try to do some day.

I just received this GEC 73 today. It is special for me for several reasons. It has nice stag, and it’s a trapper and it is a left handed version. I’ve been looking for a lefty and nice stag for so long that I’m not sure what to want anymore… it really scratched an itch.

It’s not a magic trick, and getting older beats the alternative. Not getting any older is a fate we all face. It’s when we transition from being seen to being viewed.

Here are 3 more RoseCraft Blades that I purchased from our very own Tony at Corn Creek Cutlery.
I think I have become somewhat addicted to this brand.

Not a bad thing to be addicted to, David, I have 2 of the models you posted, the Senator and the Tasia(?) plus a few more purchased earlier from Tony, who is great to deal with. He's like the Pied-Piper, he showed up and drew all us innocent subjects into his realm with his knives, as opposed to his flute!
Very nice trio, buddy!

Because I commented on what a cool knife this is, Ridgegrass sent it to me! What can I say!
Fully operational and locks-up tight!
It's a tiny knife for a guy who has nothing but BIG knives!
A mini-miniature!
Thanks, buddy!

Cheers, GEC makes a fine knife. Do you have a picture of yours? I’m still getting used to opening this one. It’s nice to have a lefty but I’m so used to opening right handed knives that this one will probably stay pristine.Madmarco wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 1:50 amBeautiful knife, Frank, I have the right-handed version! lol!Frank+K wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 3:42 am I just received this GEC 73 today. My copy is currently buried at the bottom of the pile, Frank, but I'll post pictures next time I come across it as I'm reorganizing my knives.

Great looking Stag on that GEC, Frank!
More beauties from Tony, David!
Mark, I had to do a double take on your photo - not used to you holding anything but a big ol’ honker! Neat - and unique - gift from Ridgegrass there!
