I enjoyed every one of them, thanks for posting. That looks like a great place to stay, and full of nostalgia inducing items. I could almost hear the floor creaking as I scrolled thru the pics.

I'm sure you could Ike, I'm telling you there wasn't a plumb floor or wall in the place, my neice who lives in her grandparents house that the first part of was built in the 1700's ,which was a one room log house and has been added onto over the centuries, said "this is just like home I love it".

Glad I don't have to maintain it but would love to stay there.

Love those old houses and buildings that have so much character. Somewhere along the way we’ve lost that character, with “modern” steel and glass construction the norm. And very few “artisan” builders with the skills needed to build such houses. The “open” concept in favor among today’s “global warming” hysteria adherents is baffling. Our ancestors made small rooms in their homes because they were efficient to heat and cool, rather than try to heat the whole house.

As Ronald Reagan famously said “so much of what they know simply isn’t so”. (Or something like that).

Ha! I sure hope not.

It was about the last thing I expected to find at a dentist office but I couldn’t resist buying it when I saw it. He had a whole basket full of them and I hand picked this one from the basket.

Those borers are wreaking havoc on my ash trees. I have probably 10 I need to cut down, and more out in the woods that are dead or dying. Between the Oak wilt, Ash borers, and Dothiorella wilt on my Cedar Elms, I guess I won't have any trees left.

We made the trip north to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Amazing place and well worth the trip from anywhere! We met my cousin and her husband there - this was our fourth visit but their first. We spent nearly 5 hours there and didn’t see half of it.

Thought some of y’all might be interested so here’s a few pictures of it.

We made the trip north to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Amazing place and well worth the trip from anywhere! We met my cousin and her husband there - this was our fourth visit but their first. We spent nearly 5 hours there and didn’t see half of it.

Thought some of y’all might be interested so here’s a few pictures of it.

Looks great. We were there years ago, looks a lot bigger now. Thanks for the pics.

Their western art galleries with paintings, sculptures, saddlery, and silversmithing are among the best anywhere. It has indeed increased in size and every time I go there are new things to see in addition to the ever changing temporary exhibitions like the one they have there now on the Western Cattle Trail. There is also an extensive permanent exhibit on Western film and television stars. We didn’t make it to several art galleries and the rodeo exhibits - maybe next time.

Took the tour about 35-40 years ago and it wasn't too hard to see it all in a day back then. I may need to put it back on the agenda soon.
