What a great way to watch the sunset!

Did you go up in the Arch? We were there a bunch of years ago and went up in the Arch. OUTSTANDING!!!!! Highly recommended!!Railsplitter wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 9:06 pm The city of St. Louis, Missouri from a hilltop in Edwardsville, Illinois.
You kind of had to be there but it looked pretty cool in person.

Me too, Jerry. It was a hoot. I am normally a little claustrophobic but I really enjoyed the ride.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 1:00 pmDid you go up in the Arch? Very nice, John! My only balloon ride was at sunrise out around Taos, quite scenic as well, but not so dramatic as your pic.
That sounds like something that your governor would have already passed!

I did not go up the other day when I took that picture but I did sometime in the 1990’s. Those little elevators are really cool. Only big enough to sit down in as I remember it. And the top of the Arch was just like you said. OUTSTANDING!jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 1:00 pmDid you go up in the Arch? We were there a bunch of years ago and went up in the Arch. Yes, unless you are in the NW corner, or Southern portion. When I was in grade school I really hadn't been North. We were learning everything related to our state, I thought that it was odd because Illinois was called the Prairie State, and in my experience it wasn't flat.Railsplitter wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 7:37 pmThe view in that picture fascinated me because as you already know, Illinois is nothing but flatland mostly.

Beautiful pics, can't pick a favorite. Thank you for not sleeping in and missing sunrise!

thanks Ike - I wish the postcard business was still booming cuz I’d have the sunrise market captured.

Some of them old crawlers are still being used today . Neat pic John .
