I'm always interested in tang stamps, it looks like a frog on your bowie, do you have any more background on this knife? Year of manufacture, etc...etc...?

Ciphered blades like this are are mostly done 1840s to 1850s The wr crown mark was still used by Wragg on this one so I think this dates to right after the Mexican war since it has old Zack in the ciphered blade. I have never seen this tang stamp on any other wragg knife

Just got home. A Quick Look At Levine’s guide shows 1861-1926. Frog mark imported to USA by H Boker & Co. Mark sold to John Watts 1916. So figure pre 1916.
