My First Case Tested XX
I know it’s rougher than a cob, but got a pretty good deal on it & it had a good tang stamp. I collect TL-29s and never thought I would be able to get one of these. I can’t do anything about the blade loss, but thanks to a member & good friend on here I now know how to clean it up. My concern is that I can’t find any other pictures of a Tested XX with the TL-29 stamped mental shield, all I can find is with it pressed in the wood scale.

I believe that one is fairly rare, the shield complies with the government MIL spec. Several companies including Case made them on contract for the military.

This is my understanding as well.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 11:01 pmC.M.is yours a military issued Case XX? Anything to make you think that? I supposed the TL-29s could also have been used by other Gov't agencies (GSA, etc...)
....
Update!!!(OK,
looking at another post .... looks like these knives were made to DOD specs, including the shields and stamping on the handles, so most likely yours is a military issued Case XX....
