Re: New York Knife
A definite dud Mike, right off the bat it has modern acrylic "looking glass" handles.

My thoughts also. I’ve never seen that blade configuration on a NYK?

To me the blades and tang stamps look ok, the rest...not so much.

Re: New York Knife
I don't have a NYK single blade pruner, but the farmers jacks I have don't have a pruning blade ground like this one.
add this one too :

That's got to be the worst stag I've ever seen on a Wostenholm , plus has anyone ever seen a federal shield on an old Wostenholm? I've got a lot of concerns , but I may be wrong.
Here's an older IXL stamp I have on a F J, that's a newer stamp on that knife :

Re: New York Knife
To be fair, the title of the auction does say "custom," although the description doesn't call out the replaced scales.
The frame and blades appear to be original. Blade pulls line up.

Here's the NYK pruning blades in a pocket knife. The last picture is an eBay picture.

Re: New York Knife
Thanks guys for responding
I agree about the handles being replacements however I was looking for input on the 4 blade configuration? I should have been clearer on my post.
Lyle, I never even looked at his others DAH

Re: New York Knife
Me either. Can't recall ever seeing a pruning blade in a NYK equal end and the blade behind the pen blade has been seriously shortened so no idea what that one would have originally looked like. You can see the tip sticks up way above the liners. I don't think that blade belongs in there at all (along with that pruning blade). Might be an original layout but since the knife has been altered there's no telling what's real and what was added.galvanic1882 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:31 pm My thoughts also.
