Standard knife company little valley folding hunter mint

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Standard knife company little valley folding hunter mint

Post by 41yrcollk »

Here’s one I’ve kept for 20 years. After reading up must be 1901to 1903. Light stamped but all there. Condition is mint full crocuses. Perfect handles. 5 3/8ths closed. I may be holy grail. I associate it with 60150 pattern. I’m thinking maybe worth a few grands.

backspring so strong I can't hardly open it. too strong for fingernail, sort of hoping for some response about rareness and what to do with this, that would be first stamping correct?

It’s beautiful.

In a case like this I often wonder if its too stiff spring is the reason it is in such good condition? Whoever bought it didn’t use it. If it was easier to open he would have used it more.

that is just what I thought, couldn't open it so stayed mint, I got another one you can't open 2 of the blades rogers stag tobacco congress in my salesman's sample collection, I got like 3 knives at once with this, one a used LP 6375 with perfect matched brite red bone handles, used, other was a junker something, you can't open with your fingernail, I was thinking about churning up some interest, but I can't make myself part with some , collecting 50 years gets sort personal attachment, had to let some go......
