Sorry, Ike, I didn't mean to single you out, it was just that 2 of us had a certain specific reason for our liking the MAX, but you only stated your general feelings, although, your added comments today now make your feelings clear. More of that computer to real person misunderstanding.
BTW, I'm a sucker for those features too, but I'd have thrown in single-blade models only as well.

Wendell Carson Mammoth Ivory 2601 Trapper.

It looks very similar to the Interior Mammoth Ivory that Schatt & Morgan used on a series of knives made in 1997.

Here are a couple from my collection (the Teardrop Jack has since been sold, but I still have the single blade Wharncliffe Trapper with acorn shield)

Always appreciate your feedback Q! Those S&Ms are beautiful, and I agree that Wharncliffe Trapper frame looks almost identical to the 2601.

Thanks Marco! Yeah I could not pass on it,and bought it. Blade is like a mirror ... took some trial and error to get a pic where etching could be read. Bucks are my weakness.
