This came from a recent auction I won!
Tang stamp reads "Ulster Knife Co." and was described as an antique coke-bottle stabber jack.
6 1/4" oal slip-joint, single spear-point SS blade, NS and brass hardware, and ebony covers.
Nice knife!

Nice score. Had that baby on my watch list and wondered if anyone around here was the top bidder. Congrats, great piece. ::tu::

Thanks Iman, I'm really hoping I didn't scoop it up from under your nose, buddy, ::handshake:: ! I saw the single blade along with the coke-bottle frame, threw in my bid, and the rest is history! Won for $63. and shipped for $25. more, I thought I did O.K. on this one!

Thank you much, Gordy, ::handshake:: ! I always appreciate your compliments, and those ebony covers pretty much sold me on it after the coke-bottle frame and single spear-point blade!
You said, "GOD for me", can I assume you meant "GOOD for me"? ::shrug:: lol!

Seems like a variant badge?? Tang also seems odd.
I believe that Case used that shield for bone and wood handles. Shields for Delrin handles have the oval around the name, unless I am mistaken. It is very possible that I have that backwards....
The tang stamp looks a little sloppy, but I didn't notice any evidence of tampering. It looks like a good knife to me.
I couldn't see the full tang - when was it made?

Case started using the shields with no circles in 1975 for their Delrin handled knives, so I would say this knife has Delrin scales and was made from the mid to late 70s depending on how may dots it has under "stainless" and the stamp looks correct for a knife from that era. Oh Kim you just made my day. What a chuckle I got from your “fat bertha” leg. That’s what I am calling it.
I’ve gotten knives that are smaller than I expect, but never that large. Some sellers just don’t eve include the closed length.
Thank you for the belly laugh.

I’m on a WW2 knife kick. That is an Ulster Army 10th division mountain knife. Needed the phillips head screwdriver for ski bindings.
