Kim is is called a birding knife one blade is used to change the choke tube in a shotgun, the hook is for removing the gizzards in upland birds and ducks.Kimzilla wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 6:53 pmCool knife - I've never seen one like it before. What is that type of knife called and what are the functions for the hook and what appears to be a razor? All of my knives are just for lookin', so I don't know too much about the functionality of something like what you have there.

Totin' one resurrected by Herb today, part of the etch is still visible. It had some silver looking celluloid that was gassing out. I gave it the #2 pencil rust treatment. #ThreeBladeThursday

Seen it that's the reason I dug it out of my pile, I'll take half that if anyone is interested and throw in shipping.

I believe you're referring to what is commonly known as a "Marlin Spike", Kim, and it's used by sailors to untie knots in those big huge ropes you see on sailing ships.

Called a cattle knife with 4 blades is my opinion. The stingray looking? Nothin' I can tell, but the one that's not a "cutting" Utensil I call
a punch.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks Gdogg. It's hard to know exactly, but I was told it's a WW2 piece made for soldiers and supposedly Imperial went to plastic handles in 1943, so it would be before that. 1941 or '42 I would guess, but that's just my guess.
