First, this 6" oal GEC slip-joint with sheepsfoot blade, NS hardware, and dyed blue camel bone covers! What a beauty!WIN_20230420_16_31_15_Pro.jpgWIN_20230420_16_31_57_Pro.jpgThen is this 7 3/4" oal 2008 version of an A.G. Russell Texas Ranger series gunstock lockback with 9Cr18Mov clip-point blade, SS hardware, brass commemorative shield, and black micarta covers! This will go nicely with my 2011 version T/Ranger series toothpick slip-joint!WIN_20230420_15_22_54_Pro.jpgWIN_20230420_15_25_33_Pro.jpg
Thanks Mark!
Congrats on a beauty. I love camel bone and blue camel is even better. What a sweet little knife and the A.G. Russell is a sweetie too. Two gems Marco, hope you love them and enjoy them. ::tu:: ::tu::

Just bought this fairly hard to find Western Bowie yesterday off the Bay. Saw it a few minutes after it posted and pulled the trigger, decent price.

Too bad you couldn't find one that looked brand new. What Texans heart isn't stirred by a Bowie. Enjoy it.

Very cool, C-W!
Did you buy it to give/sell to Skip, or is it for you? ::shrug::
Remember, ::hmm:: if it's for you there are all the others you'll need to get as well! lol!
8)
Thanks Marco,This one is for me. I’m always on the lookout for the the one Skip is missing though, and tipped him off on another pair on auction the same time I got this. I’ve never even seen these before Skip’s thread about them, so it put me on the hunt.
Yep, me too C-W, I'd never seen those until I stumbled across Skip's post.
I do knife searches on ebay every day, and I too am on the lookout for the ever elusive Camillus "Jack-of-Hearts" to help complete the set for Skip.
And now we get to watch another member, you, search the world for the remaining models that will complete your set, cuz you know what they say don't you, "You can't have just one!" lol!

This showed up today. From SMKW, quick ship. When they come in a bubble pack, I tend to leave them in it.

It is also one of the prettiest knives I've seen, Rick, what a great profile.
Reminds me a lot of some of the Jack Wolf models.
Really nice score, man!

I know what you mean. They remind me of the Jack Wolf knives also. I haven't handled a Jack Wolf knife so I can't say for sure but I assume the quality is pretty close to those. At 2.4 times the price, I had to sit out the Jack Wolf knives but I felt that the Ohio River Jack was a great value considering that the quality seems similar.

Yep, those J/W knives are nice, but, IMHO too expensive. I haven't handled or even seen one in person, but compared to similar looking knives such as yours the price seems high, and they haven't gone down even 1 cent since they dropped, which might be an indication of their quality. I've coveted their "Vampire" jack since I first saw them, but the US$275. tag has so far stopped me in my tracks. If your O/R/J is selling for two and a half times less I'd say you made the right choice, Rick, which brings me to, would you object to telling me where you got it, I'd like to get a copy? Thx!

https://www.traditionalpocketknives.com ... river-jack

It was formerly C. Risner Cutlery. The owner, Austin is Clarence Risner's Grandson. Clarence was a pretty big name in the knife industry. Austin dedicated the Ohio River Jack to his late Grandfather which I assume is why the tang is stamped "C. Risner". But then it wouldn't look right if it was stamped traditionalpocketknives.com. ::doh::

The ORJ is made in one and two blade models. Hope you can get one! ::tu::

I'm sorry, Rick, you posted where you got it in your OP, guess I was so excited I overlooked that. ::handshake::
This puts me in the driver's seat, when the company was Risner they wouldn't ship to Canada, but now that they're Traditional they will!
They're far more reasonably priced than the J/W knives, and they come with spear-point, wharnie, or sheepsfoot blades, and 1 or 2 blade models as you stated.
Did you see the "Sold Out" Titanium models, WOW!
Thanks for the help buddy, I'll be buying mine soon!
