Nice knives gentleman!! Carried this old French Tarry Levigne Ring Pull knife today.

Uhmmm ... I guess you pull the ring, count to 3 and throw the knife? ...

Haha!! No sir!! You open it by the nail nick. It's the closing portion where you pull the ring which unlocks the pin by pulling the back strap up, which allows you to close the knife.

Ahhh ... Now I see! ... A very interesting piece,

Those are indeed smooth Alox. Smooth Alox seems to be the type most often used on narrow 84mm SAKs, such as Tom's and mine below.

TPK, Ivoryman, thank you. We're on opposite schedules now so never have days off together, when we get a moment we have to grab it quickly. It was a beautiful evening and nothing beats hot food and drinks in cold windy conditions.
Some design work today. For my upcoming birthday my sisters are getting me a carbide file guide for doing stick tangs so first design will be a sgian dubh.
